Met office forecasts rain with squally wind

DHAKA, May 26, 2018 (BSS)-Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places across the country in the next 24-hours ending at 9 am tomorrow.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions," said a met bulletin issued this morning here.

Moreover, one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions may see moderately heavy to heavy falls in the next 24- hours commencing 9 am today, the bulletin added.

Westerly low lies over Bihar and adjoining area, extending its trough to North Bay, it added. Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The maximum temperature was recorded 35.2 degrees Celsius yesterday at Khulna and today's minimum temperature 22.1 degrees Celsius at Sylhet. The highest rainfall in the last 24-hour as of 6 am today was recorded 98 mm at Sylhet.

The sun sets at 6:39 pm today and rises at 5:12 am tomorrow in the capital.
