Buddhist community urged to work for industrially-rich Bangladesh

DHAKA, Nov 17, 2012 (BSS) - Industries Minister Dilip Barua today called upon the people of the Buddhist community to come forward towards building an industrially-rich Bangladesh following the morals of Gautam Buddha.

"We all have to put our effort in the national economic progress as best as possible purifying our mind through dedication and sincerity," he told a Buddhist function, arranged by Shakyamuni Buddha Bihar in the city.

President of Parbattya Buddha Sangha Bangladesh Progga Mohathero presided over the function, said a press release.

Among others, Minister to Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Bangladesh AG Abeysekara, Dr Jitendra Lal Barua and engineer Pulak Jibon Barua spoke on the occasion.

Dilip Barua said the grand alliance government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken all out steps to uphold the rights of people of all religions.

Representatives of the Buddhist community from three Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) districts are taking part in the three-day function.
