Jamaat is torchbearer of Pakistani ideologies: Hanif

DHAKA, Nov 17, 2012 (BSS) - Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif today said there is no scope to sever relations between BNP and its ally Jamaat-e-Islami as Jamaat is the torchbearer of Pakistani ideologies and BNP is their agent.

"The opposition BNP is used to take money from the ISI (Inter- Services Intelligence) of Pakistan and the Jamaat pursues the politics of Pakistani ideologies. Both the parties are the disciples (followers) of the same master. So, there is no scope to split relations of the two parties," he said while speaking as
the chief guest at a public rally in the city.

Bangladesh Krishak League, an associate body of the ruling
Awami League, organised the public rally in front of Awami League
central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital city protesting the destructive activities of Jamaat-Shibir clique and their attacks on the motorcade of the Law Minister and police force and torching the vehicles of police.

Acting president of Bangladesh Krishak League Altaf Hossain Bulu chaired the rally, was also addressed, among others, by Food Minister Dr Abdur Razzak, Awami League organising secretary Ahmed Hossain, information and research affairs secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain, Dhaka City AL organising secretary Shahe Alam Murad and Krishak League general secretary Advocate Khondokar Shamsul Huq Reza.

About the dialogue between the government and the Jamaat, Hanif said, "Jamaat-e-Islami is a party of war criminals. On the other hand, Awami League is a party, which wants to free the nation from the stigma by holding the trial of the Jamaati war criminals. Dialogue cannot be held between a pro-liberation party and an anti-independence party."

He said Jamaat is a venomous (poisonous) snake, which takes refuge in holes and bites whenever it gets an opportune moment.

Hanif, also a special assistant to the Prime Minister, said the trial of the war criminals will be held expeditiously and their trial shall be held on the sacred soil of Bangladesh whatever might be the conspiracies of the anti-liberation forces.

Dr Abdur Razzak said, "BNP and its leaders, including Barrister Moudud Ahmed, are receiving monthly allowances from ISI of Pakistan. They are used to lead their life on the throwaway things.

Moudud has now been saying that the relations between BNP and Jamaat remains intact as they are receiving threats of forfeiting of their monthly allowances."

The Food Minister said the BNP and its ally Jamaat has been hatching conspiracies for a long to transform the country into a mini-Pakistan as the ghost of Pakistan has embarked on their shoulders but their daydream will never be materialized.
