ACC grills SNC Lavalin's local agent over Padma Bridge graft

DHAKA, Nov 18,2012 (BSS)-The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) today once again quizzed a local agent of SNC Lavalin, a Canadian consultancy firm, in connection with the allegation of graft in the proposed Padma Bridge project.

A four-member ACC inquiry team led by its senior deputy director Mir Joynal Abedin Shibly quizzed Dr Golam Mostufa, managing director of ACE Consultant Firm, for the second time, for two and a half hours at ACC headquarter in the morning. The team earlier on November 6 quizzed Mostifa in this regard.

After coming out of the ACC Golam Mostufa told newsmen that he was not involved in any kind of corruption.

On September last, the commission decided to conduct an inquiry into alleged corruption in appointing contractor and consultants for construction of the Padma Bridge Project upon request of the Communications Ministry following a suspension of 1.2 billion dollar fund by the World Bank.
