5 killed in Bogura road accident

BOGURA, May 23, 2018 (BSS) - At least five people were killed and seven others injured in a road accident on the Bogura-Natore highway at Partekur in Sadar upazila on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Ariful Islam Sumon, 28, son of Hafizar Rahman of Kukrul village in Sadar upazila, Anwar Hossain, 50, son of Abdul Hye of Koigari Khadai village, Moklesur Rahman, 52, son of Anwar Hossain of Nandigram village, Ramjan Ali, 60, son of Ayes Uddin of Chakolma village under Shahjahanpur upazila and Faruk Hossain, 28, son of Abdur Rahim, a resident of Khikinda village under Sherpur upazila of the district.

The accident occurred in the area at about 9 am when a truck collided head-on with a human hauler, leaving 12 people injured, said Sub-inspector Abdul Aziz Mandal of Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZRMCH) police camp.

The injured passengers of the human hauler were taken to SZRMCH where five succumbed to their injuries.
