DHAKA, May 23, 2018 (BSS) - Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed today invited Canadian entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh's special economic zones (SEZs).
"Canadian investors would benefit making investment in the SEZ," he told Canadian High Commissioner in Dhaka Benoit Prefontaine during a view exchange meeting at his ministry office.
Mentioning that Bangladesh is developing 100 SEZs at the initiative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Tofail said Bangladesh's investment policy is fully business friendly.

Terming Canada as a big market and business partner of Bangladesh, the minister laid emphasis on expanding the market for Bangladeshi products.
In last fiscal, Bangladesh exported products of $ 1079.18 million against the import of $ 598.50 million.
The Canadian High Commissioner said Bangladeshi RMG is very popular in Canada so import of the apparel item would increase in future.

Benoit Prefontaine also termed Bangladesh's investment environment as excellent and hoped Canadian investors would come up with investment in Bangladesh.
