45,000 liters liquor destroyed, 22 held in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, May 25, 2018 (BSS)- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) seized 45,000 liters of country-made liquor and arrested 22 people involved in drug-addiction and trading from different areas in the district yesterday.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid at Vaya Luxmipur area under Charghat Upazila and seized the huge liquor and arrested six persons in this connection.
Another RAB team arrested 16 persons for their alleged involvement in addiction of drugs and its trading after conducting a raid at Guripara area under Rajpara Police Station in the metropolis.
Afterwards, a mobile court convicted and sentenced all the arrested people to different terms of jail.
The seized drugs were also destroyed in front of public in general based on the court order.
