Tigers' T20I squad for Afghan series to be announced tomorrow

DHAKA, May 19, 2018 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Cricket Board will announce the squad for upcoming the Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan tomorrow (Sunday) through a press conference at conference room of Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur here at 12 noon.

The Tigers, who are currently undergoing fitness camp under the supervision of strength and conditioning coach Mario Villavarayen to prepare themselves for their full tour against West Indies in July-August, will play three-match T20 I series against Afghanistan in Indian city of Dehradun before heading off West Indies.

The first T20I will be held on June 3 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium while the second and third games will take place on June 5 and 7 at the same venue. It will be first bilateral series of the two nations.

Earlier on May 13, the Tigers started their fitness and condition camp for their tour of West Indies after BCB announced a 31-memebr preliminary squad for the series.

Among the 31-memebr preliminary squad ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and cutter master Mustafizur Rahman are currently representing Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians respectively in the ongoing India Premier League. The Tigers are expected to play two Tests, three ODIs and a T20I during their West Indies tour.

The Tigers had a busy schedule until the Nidahas Trophy though they could not get the expected result from the tournament losing to India in the nail-biting final. But now the Tigers are concentrating about their upcoming series against West Indies.
